pistion rings in the plenum

Started taking parts off the TPI 305 to replace with the 350 and in the plenum I found OIL and shattered/smashed piston rings. LOL man some one did something worong along the way. Good thing I don't plan on reusing the block, also, the sensor on the under side of the plenum is is the IAT right? Also does anyone know how to releave fuel pressure with out pulling the fuel pump fuse and running the engine untill it is out of gas....my car does not run.

the sensor is the MAT(manifold air temp sensor. some refer to it as the IAT.

relieve the fuel pressure by taking off your gas tank cap, and letting the car sit over nite.. if you dont want to wait that long just relieve it through the schraeder valve, located on the passenger side of the fuel rail..

Pressure can actually be held in the rails for over 24 hours. I know mine hold pressure for a looooonnnnggggg time. Just unscrew the cap on the schraeder valve and push in on the valve. Have a towel handy to wipe up the gas. How long has the car been sitting without running? If its more than a day I'd say it probably will only have a negligible amount of pressure anyway.
