Does anyone know if Comp 987 springs will swap onto Edelbrock Heads?

I need to change the Edelbrock valve springs to Comp 987's and I know that the 987 are smaller on the out side ( 1.43), but will the inner spring fit over the valve guide seal ok?

Has any one done this swap ?

Yes.

They fit fine. The guides on the Edelbrock heads are .530" OD IIRC, and the ID of the 987s is something like .690" IIRC. There's even room for a good quality seal like the Comp 500, or the equivalent from Crane or Manley or whoever.

They are arbitrarily close to the same outer diameter as what came on the heads.
