Help me knock a second or two off...
Check out my sig for stats. I G-tech'd my car last night and got 16.1@87mph with 166rwhp. There were no pre-test mods done, and three of us were in there, adding about 600lbs(I can ditch 400lbs of that) I figure I can get into the 15's with the less weight, tuning my carb, and tweaking here and there. Any suggestions?

The mph is good for low to mid 15's. Lose all the extra weight you don't need. How much does all that stereo equipment weigh?
Traction. Gets some slicks and upgrade the rear suspension. If you want to get more HP then it's not cheap. Simple bolt-on stuff won't give you 50hp.
Easiest way to drop 1-2 seconds is NOS.

Best 60 foot: 1.546
Racing at 3500 feet elevation but most race days it's over 5000 feet density altitude!

Hummer,
I'm assuming you have a Qjet. If so, then go to this site's tech section and do the carb and HEI ignition mods that Damon has written up. They cost next to nothing and really do make a startling difference

By losing the passengers (400 lbs) you will drop about .4 off your 1/4 mile time.

Rear Gears my friend. I assume you have 3.42's? Finish up at redline. That should knock quite a bit of time off. Run without accessories(good for about 40 ft-lbs if you still have all of the AC SMOG etc.) Headers always help a sbc run better due to the siamesed exhaust. Advance ign timing to about 8* BTDC from 0*. Don't try running high octane it burns slower and will slow you down, and if you hear pinging retard back a couple of degrees. If you have an open diff then try launching with the car slightly angled to the right. Straighten it out as you launch and it puts more weight on the right side tire. See some of the other posts about LCA's and torque arms to further help you. That 5.0 should run 13's without cracking a valve cover.

Lol, 13's w/o cracking a valve cover... right...
I HOPE to be running High 13's with my Cam, Intake, SLP headers, 3.42 Posi Rear, 2400 Stall Converter, ported stock heads, and A Lot of Launching practice.
If that Cam you have is I224 E224, I think its a little big for the stock Heads.
The Comp I218 E224 Im Running is probrably a little bit large for the stock heads as it is.
The rearend you have is Probrably the stock Posi 2.73's, Wich are Not helping you at all.
lOok Into 3.42's or 3.73's, and a SLP takeoff Posi carrier ( need new axles, however )
Alot of time Can Be Picked up In just Driver sKill. Where are you shifting ? I run My best times shifting at 6 grand ironically Enough.
Looks lik eyou are using the Stock Intake, as well. Not a Great mAtch to that Fairly agressive Cam. Can't go Wrong with a performer RPM spreadbore!
Most likely, Your Lack of speed is due to Tuning and driving difficulties, Play with your Gtech and see what you can do to make it run faster.
You should be Running a LOT faster than you are, however.
