Racing Engine Buildup Advice (MAF vs. MAP)
Racing Engine Buildup Advice (MAF vs. MAP)
I currently have an '89 Iroc-Z 305 T.P.I. / 5-Speed combo. Now I know a lot of people get on here and talk about there pipe dream buildups, but mine is legit.. so, I need some serious advice. Here is my buildup: 1989 Chevy 350 block bored .030 (355) w/ 6" forged manley H-Beam rods and JE Flat Tops. AFR 190cc Heads, MiniRam intake, TPIS ZZ-X cam, 1 3/4" SLP Headers + SLP FULL 3" exhaust w/ Off Road Pipe. I left a lot of odd end stuff out. Anyways, my question is in regards to the Fuel Management. As I already stated, my camaro is an '89, therefore, it has the MAF. With the setup Im going with, I figure it will be pumping out anywhere between 420-500 HP at the flywheel. Will my MAF be able to handle the ZZ-X cam and/or the engine combination as a whole? I really don't want to go through the hassle of buying and tuning Accel DFI, OR switching to Speed Density. Any comments or suggestions?
