wrap your minds around this...
ok spring will be here shortly ( I hope so anyway). and I will be getting my bird out of storage, so really I have a two questions but I'll just put them on one thread.
first: after getting my car out of storage is there anything I should pay attention to other than getting the oil changed right away and all the fluids checked and topped off?
secondly: I plan on taking it on about a three or four hour drive where I will be sol if I break down, so is there anything that I can do before I leave to make sure I make it 200 miles (or so)? I'll have a couple of months to work on it but this engine is somewhat questionable.
anyway thanx and fire away

just the typicals really. If it ran fine when you put it into storage, then you SHOULD be ok. You might find that your battery is much weaker now after not being used for the last several months. That is possibly the most likely thing to go out on you.
Other than that, I would just test all of the electronics that I could get my hands on (alternator, starter, etc). Take them to a parts store just to double check and make sure the voltage readings are in check. (if you're ****, and/or paranoid that is).
If you didnt add fuel stabilizer to your car and give it a full tank of gas before you put it away, then you might want to just flush the fuel out of the system, and give it new fuel. Nothing's worse than varnish for a combustible.

Make sure that your starter does not get heat soaked, .mine did after about 20 minutes of driving with headers and would not start. Its the worst thing ever, stopping for gas or anything and the car will not start!

I'm not really worried about heat soak, I'm just concerned that I will be driving along and my car will just plain quit. as far as the fuel goes I put a full tank in with the right amout of sta-bil, although I didn't run it though the fuel system
. anyway, anyother things to do?
