A few days ago I was driving down the street, and I heard a loud pop and then the car got really loud, i thaught I had cracked a head or something. After a quick inspection i found the #5 spark plug hanging in the plug wire. I bought new ones and tried to put it back in, that didnt work. My friend told me to buy a spark plug non-fouler, so I did that and it wont go in the head neither, Before I take the head off to get it re tapped, is there anything else I can try?

Nappa and Carquest sell a kit to fix fubard spark plug threads, it's around $40. It puts a perminent sleve in the hole. It's actually similiar to the cheater your friend reccomended but allows the plug to go back to the proper posistion.

It's a good tech question and it could happen to any engine reguardless of make.
