I removed my smog pump and now my A/C is making a weird noise when it is on. It sounds like it is going to blow up. The only thing I can tell is that my tensioner is moving back and forth a few inches when my A/C is turned on when idling. Could this be it?

 

Well first I would say that your tensioner might need to be replaced if it moves that much and second does the the compressor only make the sound while the air is on and the clutch is ingaged? cause that might be the only problem. You can get a clutch kit for them cheeper then replacing it unless you know of one in good condition in a bone yard.
