I dont really know where to put this but i'll just ask here. Today i'm driving my car and go to put the window up...it starts to go but then stops....i hit the switch again, nothing. I let it sit for a bit and try again, it inches its way up and stops. I repeat this process till finally it goes back up. NOW, stupid *** me, i put the window down later on and no its the same damn process....short of being the motor for the window, what else should i check before taking the door apart?

Try pushing the switch only part of the way down, see if that helps. The switches wear out too, in fact my window motors are original but the switches died a few years ago.

 

Sounds like the motor windings are worn out.

The motor heats up real fast and quits working. You let it sit and its OK. (for a second)
