summit roller rockers

I saw some roller rockers on the summit website for about $130-140 They are aluminium but are non self aligning. What exactely does this mean? Will these be good for a budget hi pro street engine that will pull approx 5,700rpm.

only if they work with your rocker alignemnt system, and you don't mind them breaking at some point.

Why is that? Are they really crap, i know you get what you pay for but in reallity i dont generally flog my car all that often and wouldnt they be more reliable than normal stamped rockers. However i was hoping to upgrade to a comp xe 264 or 269 cam with about .500 lift. Do you recomend i buy a more renound brand?

no they are not as relaible as stock. ever heard of a factory rocker breaking in half? i doubt it. they same can't be said for aluminum. in time it'll fail because of fatigue.

Hmm, good to know. The heads I just bought came with a set of 1.5 Summit rollers... time for new ones!

well if don't mind replacing them around 30,000 miles you won't have a problem, or shouldn't. i'd run steel ones from comp, they're also lighter.
