Disconnecting IAC

The wiring harness connecting to the IAC has gone bad. How do I know, you ask?

I made adjustments to the idle a while ago, then realized I had a vac. leak, so I then needed to readjust. Upon extending the IAC pintle all the way, I heard that it was NOT moving in a steady series of clicks. It was highly irregular, often not doing anything for a second or more. If I wiggled the wires a bit, it would become a steady series of clicks. So I was wondering, if I could just extend the IAC pintle all the way, leave it disconnected, and bump up the idle screw to about 650-700 rpm's in drive.

Of course, this would only be a temporary fix until I could get a new wiring harness, and I realize I would probably see that lovely SES light until then, but would there be any other issues? It wouldn't take much for me to give it a little gas at start-up, but since the weather's hot here now anyways that might not even be necessary.

It'll work, just not very well. Like you said, you may have some stalling issues. You won't get a check engine light, for some reason there is no SES code for a bad IAC.
