okay help me out guys please
my exhaust was popping and the car was running like total crap, i replaced the cap and coil and the exhaust no longer pops and it runs a lot better, problem is it still makes a poof poof sound under the hood every once and a while when i hit the 4bbl, what would cause it? it doesnt do it every time i hit the 4bbl, but it does it often, it's a rochester computerized with a performer manifold.

update, it makes the poof sound with or without the 4bbl like it's backfiring or something.

Any problems when you turn the car off?
Im thinking if it was a vac leak it would be more of a POP instead of poof.
Turn the timing down a few degres and see if it helps.
