LB9, 94K....rebuild or build up?
My Lb9 has about 94,000 miles on it and I was thinking of starting to do some work to it. Currently I have not done any major mods to my car, just cat-back exhaust, K&N, and throttle body airfoil. I ran a 15.01 @ 92.5 last year and of coarse im looking for some more performance. I was thinking of throwing on a set of World torquer 305 heads, Edelbrock TES headers, and a cam. I found a local shop that offered to port the heads and intake for like $200 if i got em. Should I do this without messing with the bottom end? I NEVER hear any knocking, and have solid oil pressure, but have heard the 305's like to crap out around 100K. It would suck to have to rip it apart for bottom end problems again later. Thanks for any help

My 305 is running strong at 130k, it isn't true that they crap out at 100k unless they are abused. Im in your same position right now, my engine is sitting in the car with nothing on it. Im actually trying to find a 350 block right now. If you are taking the heads off, and you are like me, you will see that you might as well go farther.
If you have no problems now, you probably won't have any in the near future. But you will regret not rebuilding or replacing!

I'm just trying to avoid a major headache. I dont want any computer problems, and i want to get it done in a weekend (my car is my daily driver). When I ran desktop dyno it came up with 300+hp and around 330 ft/lbs (depending on which cam). If those numbers are correct, then i will have all the speed i need. Its fun to be different sometimes, and i havent seen many built 305s. I think the LB9 is underestimated (the formula 350's running 15.3 at the track did) and can give me all i want, just kind of woried about a 16 year old bottom end.
