harness over 100mph???
What about times I thought after your car was fast enough to run certain times you had to have a cage. But I never heard of a harness.

5 point harness is required at 11.99 and quicker. 12.0 and slower only require a factory belt.

Helmets are required to run 12's, over 200 mph you need a chute, 11's you need a cage, and if you already have a cage you have to run 5 point.

Good to know but my car will never hit 11's. I would have to hook it up to a rocket to get it to go that fast.

ATO: What rules are you looking at?
NHRA rules state that helmets are required at 13.99 and quicker. Most tracks want you to wear a helmet at all speeds.
A parachute is required for any car running 150MPH or quicker but it doesn't have to be deployed.
10.0 to 11.99 you only need a 6 (minimum 5) point bar if the floor or firewall are unmodified. If either are modified then a roll bar is only good to 11.0 and a full cage is required if quicker.
A car running 12.00 and slower can have a roll bar to add stiffness to the car but can still use the factory seat belts if they want. Since you need a roll bar once you hit 11's, a 5 point harness also become manditory.
Buy a rulebook. Don't quote rules without proper specs.
If you dip into the 11's, you'll also need a single layer fire jacket SFI 3.2A/1
