Changing Spark Plugs

How hard is it to change the plugs on a 91 305 motor? Should I do it myself or pay sometone to do it?

Its pretty easy. Your arms will get real dirty, but you shouldn't pay someone to do it.. all you need is a 5/8 deep socket. Go look at your engine and find out how tough it is..

You could have changed them while you were looking at it.

I just changed the spark plugs in my trans am. It was pretty easy. I wouldnt hire it out. But the last one on the drivers side closest to the fire wall is easier to get from underneath the car. Just some tight squezes. Easy Though.

It's real easy to change spark plugs on a thirdgen. I've got some beefy arms and I can still get to the plugs real easy.

Dont pay, whut ever you do dont pay. It is pretty easy to do it. The only tuff one will be the back two on the passenger side. Well that is only if you have Hedman Headers :0). But if you dont.....dont waste your money. Takes about 40 min to do all 8. Have fun, and make sure you have some Grease hand soap remover, cuz your gettin dirty

40 minutes? I can get under and get one side changed at a time. 15-20 mins tops, but a shop will prolly charge you for two hours

BTW Change the plug wires while you're at it, no sense doing the same thing twice

On my GTA I installed Holley 9mm Anihillator cables. They are about $60+ for a set from Advance. The boots are heavily insulated, the clips have very good contact and hold real good. The set matches pretty good around the headers too.
I had to buy these cause the old ones kept leaking between the ceramic and the boots specially with the MSD ignition and coil.
Of course this might seem like overkill but that is my choice.

The hardest part is getting the idiots at the part store to give you the right plugs. Has anyone else had them give you plugs for a chevette, didnt think so.
