Installation of new power window motor Q.
Installation of new power window motor Q.
I need to replace the power window motor on my driver's side. I got a used motor that supposedly works fine; so anyways, how does one go about doing this? I took the door trim off and stared at everything, baffled at how I can get this thing in there/remove the old motor/how it bolts in. Any diagrams would help, or any advice. Thanks!

I took mine somewhere to have done but I watched them do it. first of all nock out all the pop rivets. Then your window will move down. Now disconnect the plug in your door. Slide the regulators down so they are flat and off the window. You will probably need to have someone hold the window for you. Now you need to push or pull the motor away from the front of the car. To the rear of the door, Once you get it to the largest hole in the door you just try your D@mndest to get it out. It is a PITA. Now do the reverse of this to put the new one in and whalla you are done. By the way check your window height while you are doing this so you don't have to do it later.

Engine: LO3 with some mods
Transmission: T-5
Axle/Gears: 3.42 Richmond
If you take a good look at where the motor mounts to the door you will see that there is no way in H-ll you are gonna get bolts in there. And the rivets you need are too big for a household riveter, you need an industrial sized one.
Also, either use a suction cup to keep the window in place or remove it completely.
