nonthirdgen-88 cutlass ciera rack and pinion.
I have an 88 cutlass ciera and the Les Shwab told me that the rack and pinion needed to be replaced because of an oil leak. I want to do it myself, the question is, could i just replace the seal, or would i have to replace the entire unit. If i have to replace the entire unit, are there any special tools required? How long of a job is it?

Gained 20HP by porting and polishing my EGR passage.(some people take this seriously)
All work done by myself, and proud of it!
Find a .bin on the internet and want it burned? I'll do it for you!

Car: yep
Engine: uhuh
Transmission: sure does
Just replace it.
Its kinda a PITA on most FWD cars, (I can't recall that car specifically), the toughest part usually is getting the column bolt disconnected and reconected, there isn't much room in there.
Other than that, just a couple of lines and tie rod ends...you will need to get it aligned afterward....
Your biggest prob is the lack of work space.
