how do i set/adjust my timing?
my distributor gear and timing light should be here tomorrow, but i've never timed a motor or seen one timed. how do i do it, and whats a good starting point?
unplug the vacuum advance, est, or what ever you need to do to set base timing. attach the light per the instructions. point it at the timing tab and pull the trigger. move the distributor till the dampner mark matches the timing mark on the tab. if you have an advance light you'd want around 34-36* total, base should be around 6-10*
