mat sensor question

my car is throwing a code 23 (MAT Sensor). i was wondering where it is located and what color the wires are they goto the connector for it. the previous owner of my car has a sensor that looks like a coolant temp sensor hooked up and just laying near the distributor.

Thats the MAT. On TPI engines it goes into the underside of the intake plenum near the rear of the plenum on the driver side. The CTS and MAT sensors on the TG's are the same part#, they are interchangable. If it's out of the plenum you should hear a vacuum leak unless he plugged it. Can't understand that one. You may have to yank the plenum to change it, it's very tight to get to.
