Do I need to swap fuel lines?
Right now I have a stock 1982 Trans Am with a Q-jet and a mechanical fuel pump. I was just told that the mechanical fuel pump has a return line. It has all of the emissions equipment(sans air pump). I'm planning on switching to an 86 TPI system. Do I need new fuel lines? I know the lines come up to the passenger side of the engine block. Where do the lines for a tpi go to?

The block mounted fuel pump will no longer be neccessary. Buy a block-off plate for the fuel pump and throw the old one away or sell it or something.
The TPI system uses a fuel pump in the fuel tank. You can also just add a sump in the tank, and have the fuel pump be outside of the tank (useful if the fuel pump craps out at a later date!).
I havent done the TPI swap, so that's all that I can be of help on. Good luck!

I just noticed that the fuel lines are on the drivers side for a tpi. I don't know if I'll need an entire fuel line setup or just part of it. Anyone know?
