engine from an 88 help. fuel/spark?

ok, so i'm new to this forum, i was told to post here because there is a lot of knowledge here. i posted a general topic so i could add whatever problems i come across rather than junk up the forum with minute problems and questions

ok, so i got an 88 motor to put in a car that had a very old(maybe 75?) motor in it. it had no emissions and very few sensors/wires on it. that motor spun a rod bearing. i'm trying to use the 88 carb and dist rather than changing stuff right now(maybe later). i think i can get the wires wired up correctally, i've got a wiring diagram, and lots of parts.

our current problem is the 88 motor had an in-tank fuel pump, and the old one had a mechanical one.

any thoughts on an el-cheapo electric external fuel pump? what specs should we look for? psi? flow? any suggestions(under $100)

thanks
noob jason

I tink you'd want to keep it in the tank so you won't have to worry about vapor-lock.
A search will get you plenty of information on the subject.
