How long should fuel preassure remain after shutdown?
My fuel preassure is holding about 38 psi after shutdown for about 30mins then it slowly blleds off. I know its not injectors cause I have no trouble starting and I had pulled the whole rail and theres no leaks. Could it be dropping through the pump. Could this ber a reason my pump screams incredibly loud after about 45 minuts of running. You can here my pump down the street over my flowmaster exhaust. It getrs that loud

If you are holding pressure after 30 minutes, you should have no real problems. My '86 holds pressure for several days, but it has low mileage. Your regulator itself may be leaking back slightly, which isn't a huge problem. The check valves in the pump could also be leaking back, but if you make good pressure and hold it for 30 minutes, that isn't a real problem either. As for the noise, every pump I have sounds different, and the noise can change a lot with temperature. Unless you can no longer hear the stereo, noise is not a great diagnostic tool for fuel pumps. By the time you notice a big change, it will probably be too late anyway.
