Another engine knock thread HELP

My car has been acting kind of crazy. I got a 305 tbi in my 92 camaro and when i start it up after a few seconds it will start knock. Its fairly loud too. When i get on the gas it just knocks faster and a little louder. When i put it into drive and get on the gas you cant really notice it til i let off the gas and coast. Sometimes though it will do it when i accelerate when im in drive also though. I have no idea. Please help me out. Something tells me it could be bad.

im no expert at this but, seems to me that yur timing is off, possibly yur timing chain had a bunch of slop in it, n that it jumped a tooth or two, or your timing is off at the distributer

well, if the timing is off due to the chain, id stop drivin it bc what can happen then is very bad, like piston comin to tdc and smashin a valve on its way, then yur pretty much at rebuild status since the metal from the broken valve will scrape up the cylinder walls pretty good
