Strange Sucking noise

My knowledge of cars unfortunatly is very limited. I cranked it up a little while ago and I heard a strange sucking sound coming from right behind the drivers side wheel, not sure if it's suppose to be there or what. But if anyone knows what it is please tell me, and sometimes it fails to start on the first crank. Signs of a future problem? or is it just showing its age a bit.

One last question, what kind of gas to you guys use? I've been using regular, its an 86 305 LB9 with 94,800 on it.

Also, there is also a clicking noise in the engine bay, a couple of people have told me that its the injectors, true or false?

Probably your vacuum line that goes to that canister is broke or disconnected. The canister could also be broke. Best thing would be to look in the fender to see if the line is connected. Shouldn't be too hard to figure it out though.

The injectors probably are the clicking you hear because mine are pretty loud. Regular is fine to use. The vacuum leak is probably causing your starting problem. I meant to say vacuum tank not vacuum canister sorry for the confusion.
