Quick!-_Help/Unhooked FuelPump Fuse and car still running after 10 mins

Engine: Truck 305 /Bored .30 Flat Pistons/ Crane Cam
Transmission: Corvette 700R4
Quick!-_Help/Unhooked FuelPump Fuse and car still running after 10 mins
AM I supposed to let the tank go empty??? The car is still running now... I want to hook up a fuel pressure regulator to the shrader valve....
Opened Gas tank
Pulled off Fuel pump fuse
Started and let car run--- not dieing

If I pull the fuse completely out while the car is running the car shuts off because of the ecm being with the fuel pump fuse....
I let it run with the fuse inside the prongs but outt the plastic piece it locks in to.... and the car never shut off it just kept running

wow that was lame...
I didnt have to even remove the fuel pump fuse
or drain the fuel system
All I had to do was throw the Fuel Pressure tester on the shrader vavle and boom thats it
