Stock Crank and Rods

I was wondering about the stock crank and rods in a 355 with around 470-500hp (not at the wheels). Will these components hold up? Ive heard that the stock crank can take up to 600hp. Also, would it will be ok to use cast pistons instead of forged for this engine with 10:1 compression. Or would that be pushing it? The engine will be NA. Possibly nitrous on down the road though.

power adder = forged parts, as for your stock parts now and how well they hold uo a lot would depend on which stock parts you have

None of the internals are the original parts from the engine, but are stock style-excluding the pistons. Nothing is forged.

compression has little to do with what the piston material is made of other than the logical progression that a 14:1 piston isn't going ot be your off the shelf cast slug you might find in your daily driver. doubt you find any stock cranks good for 600hp. cranks, rods and pistons aren't the usual weak link in a SBC

I have seen some pretty wild engines at the dirt track that were made from stock cast cranks and 2 bolt blocks.

A friend of mine raced a 355 he built out of a 2 bolt block, cast crank, and hyper pistons for a season and a half at 7500rpm every friday night.

Then it broke.
