should i by this car???
hey guys, just wondering what you all thought about it.
i was at the dealer today and saw a 1992 camaro rs for sale. it is a 5sp with power windows and locks. also has red matching interior. the engine is a 305 v8. car only has 56 thousand miles on it. they are asking 5900 for it and i am sure i can talk them down some. was wondering how much you guys thought it would be worth, i dont know the newer thridgens that well..
Any help would be good, need to know soon..
Thanks

Do you know where the car is from? Ohio=rust belt. I'm outside of Akron, I know. There is a dealership in town here with a 92 Formula with 37k on the clock for 6500 that didn't look like it had ever seen rain until it sat in the dealership lot for over the last year (started at 9700).
How much to spend is up to you. If it is an old 'summer car' or from TN or more south, it may be worth 2/3rds of their price. For the price they are asking, you could buy a fourthgen (don't hate me, I own 2 3rd gens). Sports cars are nice, but don't fall victim to over inflated pricing.

You should be able to walk out with that car for $4k. I wouldn;t pay more based on what was previously stated by allegam. I too am an Ohio product and can attest for some of the 3rd gens in this state. Make sure that car didn't sit outside. If it did, it isn't any more valuable than a 200k V6 RS that has the same amount of rot.
You can always check the value by going to www.kbb.com
I did a quick check without knowing more specifics on this car and it says its only worth $3940. Dont you just love buying cars?
