Tranny Problem maybe?
Ok i put i finished up my LT1 headed 305 today and started it up. I ran it for 30 seconds and my brother started yelling shut it off. There was a huge puddle of transmission on the ground, about a quart maybe. The tranny fluid was spraying all over behind the torque converter. The tranny is a th-350.
The transmission worked great before i pulled it. I didn't do any work to it other then clean it up. But we did have a problem moving the torque converter with the tranny bolted to the engine. The converter would not rotate independly of the flexplate. It was like they were stuck together of jammed or something. So we loosened the bellhousing bolts to free up the converter. Everything was cool after that. We put in 6 quarts of fluid into the tranny and we installed the converter full of fluid.
What would cause this, is the tranny hosed? Is the front pump messed. To much fluid? Any suggestions?
I might try and drain some tranny fluid tomorrow and see if that helps. I mean **** if the tranny is hosed i can't hurt it anymore.

Yes i definitely felt two engagements when i put the converter on. But then i bolt the tranny to the motor and the converter was hung up some how. So in reality anything could have happened. It was definitely weird. We just loosened the bellhousing bolts and it freed up the converter. I believe it was seated because the converter didn't need to be pushing in more.
