Porting heads
its just that. i just wanna know how to port heads or if i could even do it. I have the heads of my old LO3 and there still in good condition and i have my 92 with an LO3 so was thinking i could do that and just swap them. Thanks

Step 1: Throw those heads away. Get some other heads besides L03 heads. Swirl-ports are the poorest candidates that there are for porting. THe best ones to get for the situation at hand, would be the ones from a 87-up LG4, L69, or LB9. Casting # 081.
Step 2: Visit http://www.sa-motorsports.com/portdiy/diyport.pdf and memorize it. Although, I personally suggest concentrating on the "bowl" areas right behind the valves first; as that's where most of the flow payoff is. Gasket matching and port enlargement are mostly useless at best and can actually reduce engine power, unless the bowls are maximized first.
