smoking oil when on WOT

i just finished putting my engine back together from changing head gaskets, and im having a problem eating oil at WOT. i think it might have to do with the PCV valve though. im running the l98 with dart iron eagles and the hsr. how much vacuum should i be pulling out of the pcv valve? my rings are only 5k miles old, so i doubt that's the problem. when i had the tpi, i wasn't eating oil. only with the hsr. spark plugs are black where it points at the intake valve, too. any suggestions? i dont like fouling my plugs like that, lol, and im sure it's affecting my performance too. thanks for the help guys

I've had problems with Dart Iron Eagles drawing a lot of oil through the valve guides. I switched over to some really high quality seals on the intake valve guides and mostly elmiminated the problem.

PCV valves can gobble up oil if you aren't using valve covers with factory-style baffles in them. Not sure what you're using for valve covers but you should see a little metal "box" inside there with what looks like a cheese grater at the bottom. That's a factory-style baffle and they're very good at keeping the PCV system from sucking liquid oil directly out of the valve deck area.

The PCV valve sees the same vacuum as in the intake. High vacuum at idle and part throttle, dropping off to almost nothing at WOT.

i have baffles...

im starting to think i need to re-torque the intake. maybe it got loose some how and is leaking oil into the runners. also probably leaking out the back too because i seem to be leaking oil somewhere on the pass side and i cant see it comming from the valve cover gaskets. weird
