to re-ring or not

HI, I have a 383, that I took out of my wreck. I did a leakdown test and there was a lot of air leaking past the rings, but compression was good. I was going to buy a re-ring kit off e-bay, after I measured the cylinders. Is it worth the time. Should I just put a bigger oil pan on, and drive it till it blows. It burned a quart every 200 miles.

Also there was no pilot bearing in the crank, would this cause a vibration.

if you don't have a manaul you don't need a pilot bearing and it wouldn't cause a vibration. a quart of oil every 200 miles is time to find and fix the problem.
