where does my 350 comes from?
hello again.
i've recently installed a 350 on my 87 rs camaro, (used 2 B 2.8mpfi crap) now a straight 4bbl. carb 4 bolt main 350 with a nwcT-5, (yes i'm being carefull with that tranny).
the only numbers i can get are as follows:
1- my friend when he sold it to me claimed it is an ex pontiac parisien 82.
2- the block # 8970010 and IT IS a 4 bolt main.
on the front of the engine (pax side) all numbers are illisible exept for the letters TXD
3- the numbers on the heads i dont have them yet but they dont seem hot-rod anyway.
4- it came with true roller double timing chain (seen it myself)
maybe is some sord of frankenstein engine but it does feel GOOOOOD on my babe.
thanks to all
fernando.

That's a 70's style truck/Z28 block. It has a higher nickel content than the newer 350's as well as the 4 bolt mains. It's a great block for doing mods to.
I doubt that it came out of an 82... unless the previous owner changed it.
