Timing Cover Marks on a Early Model/

Here is my problem: I built a 1974 350 and put it in my 88 camaro that had a stock 305. I used the timing cover from the '74 but I had to use the harmonic balancer from the '88. The problem is that the timing mark on the '88 timing cover is in a different spot then the '74. I can't figure out where exactly my TDC is. Does any one know how many degrees these two marks are apart?

Find TDC by looking in the #1 cyl through the spark plug hole, watch for the piston to come to the top, use a dial indicator or get imaginative to figure out when it reached the exact top, & mark either the balancer to match the cover you've got or vice-versa
