Axle Problem Solved??? I Hope!!!
First I would like to thank all the people that have replied to my previous axle topics. Well i think i got lucky. I got an axle from an 85' Firebird With A BW Rear w/drums. Mine is a 88' BW Rear w/ discs(my axle is bent). I believe that the shafts are the same having the same spline count(28). The shafts have the same diameter at measured points. They seem to be the same length. The only difference being the bearing hold down plate. I guess i'll have to take it to an axle shop to get the bearing out to get to the plate(if any one know how to get out let me know)
. Well if any one knows about BW rears or has any experince with them and can shed any light if the axles are different from year to year and brake system type or if they are the same let me know. thanks for any advice.
