New Injectors
New Injectors
I am going to be swapping a new set of Accel 23 lb injectors soon. Can anyone give me any tips or things to be careful of before I begin?
Thanks,
Bob

Oil the o rings so they seal properly, make sure you reuse those clips that are on the old injectors. I've heard some really bad fire stories from people that didn't have thier injectors seated properly and fuel started spaying over the ho engine. Thats all I can think of.
Just out of curiosity what is the "shop time" for this job. I can usually double the time it takes a "real" mechanic to do it.

Bob,
Whenever I read about someone replacing injectors with larger units, I can't help but wonder why. At a BSFC of 0.47, a 22# injector at 50 psig can handle 401.36 horsepower. Are you running higher hp numbers that won't allow your O2 voltage to sustain 850 - 900mV at 50 psig? Just curious.

Willie,
Maybe I can answer for Bob...
He may have needed new injectors, best thing out there for pintle (Bosch style) injectors are Accels, only thing is Accel doesn't make a 22lb'er.
Me? I went with 21#'s and will just bump the pressure up accordingly if needed.

That's exactly right. I need ones and since factory 22 lber's are too much money I am going with the Accel's.
I am going with the 23 lb ones because long range has me doing a cam and head swap.
If only someone made 22 lb injectors at a reasonable price I probably would have bought them.
