Timing Advance Problems
88 IROCZ 350 TPI stock dist.
Problem is the timing it not advancing. Checked the wiring, cap rotor, plugs. Could it be the ECM or ignition module or ESC?
Also what controls the advance?

unplug the EST wire. it's the tan one in a single weatherpack connector near the firewall on the passenger side of the engine bay. let the car warm up, unplug the EST, then time it. Turn the car off, plug it back in, and then start it.
