Could also be VATS if your car has it.

There is a cam and oil pump shaft under there, no control module's at all.

About the fuel, do you have a fuel pressure gauge? What is the resting pressure and what is the starting pressure?

PhLaXuS I already stated that i had the vats disabled via a custom chip.

HalfInchWrench if my fuel pump isnt kicking on how would seeing the fuel pressure have anything to do with it. Also i mistated that part of my question. I ment under the distrubetr cap theres a electronic spark module. Could that be the cause? Again thanks for the help both you guys for the quick replies

Back to basics. Need fuel and spark.

It could be. What makes you think it is the ignition module?

well i really dont know what it is actually. I know im not getting any fuel dont know bout spark but the car is cranking. when i turn it to the on posistion it does have the ses light on like it shoud though making me think its got somthing to do with the computer too. Could the electronic spark control being bad make this happen?

Yes it could. I've seen folks say they work or the don't. Seen myself that they can work one minute and not the next. Kinda like a woman. I have spare parts to swap on so it doesn't matter much for me. Always nice to have in a process of elimination.

Ground terminal F on the ALDL connector under the dash. Does that work?

'G' terminal, not 'F' and you don't ground it, you apply power to it

Apply 12V to the 'G' terminal to bypass everything and test the pump!

Check the ECM fuse by the battery.

Doesn't terminal D flash all the dash lights on when grounded...or is it just the SES light. Could even be a burnt bulb, but based upon other things not working, maybe not.

Well...unless someone has had this type of thing before and knew what caused it, you may have to probe the wires on the ECM for shorts.

Intermittent stuff sucks. A few months back, my power trunk kept popping fuses -- turned out my cig lighter in the dash was shorting out when I placed the heating element in. I don't smoke...I just didn't like a big hole in the dash.

Could a bad battery be causing it?

Not very likely. The ECM fuse is popping because the ECM (or soemthing attached to it) is drawing too much current. Maybe if the alternator is overcharging the battery...but probably not. As long as the battery is ~12.5V with the car off & ~14.4V with it on, the charging circuits look good. It's probably either a dead solenoid (a dead short could draw too much current) or one of your +5V reference lines (such as for TPS) that 's grounding out to the chassis somewhere. Honestly, as long as you understand electricity even a little, probably the easiest way to find a short is to pull the ECM from the car and measure directly across the ECM harness pins to see what's gone wrong. There are other ways of testing, but this way is pretty easy because evrything you need to test is right in front of you.

Seen this happen before. PHLAX is Right. Your ECM can not handle a resistance of less then 10 ohms. Also check that your ECM has a Well Inserted Prom..
