1.6 Roller Rockers - Wat should I get?
Thinking about installing some 1.6 roller rockers on my '89 IROC, what brand/type should I get - And is there anything else I need to replace when installing them?
Will they fit under the stock valvecovers?
Anyone who has done this, some advice/hints would be nice!

Compcams Pro magnums are the best for a street car. They are made of steel rather than aluminum. Ive never used 1.6 ratio rockers before so I cant comment on them.

The only advice that I can give that I'd never thought of until I was building a 383 with my brother is spring bing height. You can only mash those little suckers so far and then you start breaking stuff. With 1.5 rockers and .505 lift cam we were coming real close to bind with stock height aftermarket springs. If you measure everything and leave yourself a minimum of .030-.040 clearance, you should be fine.
Steel is definately the best choice for the street, because Aluminum no matter how thick has a compression/tension cycle limit. Steel has no limit if the stresses are low enough. Also the full roller rockers are the best, but if you can't afford that go with roller tips, because they reduce friction and help out a lot on valve geometry.
As far as brands I haven't had any experience with this, but go with a big name for best customer support and reliability.

I was wondering about these too, whats involved in the installation? I thought it would just be like: take off valve covers, unbolt stock rockers, place new rockers on, torque them down, put valve covers back on, do an oil change...
What else is there to it? I didn't know you had to measure spring hieght or anything but I'm fairly new to working on valvetrains so I'm probly wrong..
