Big leak on my passenger's side, causing lots of white smoke
I was looking around for this leak all day. I was getting smoke from the header and I didn't know what was burning. Wasn't plastic, didn't feel any oil on the valve cover, nor did I see any drips when I got under there.
TURNS OUT THAT I AM DUMB
I forgot to put a dipstick tube in

Good Luck.
You probably will find some very entertaining reading... what's not edited, deleted or lost... but remember this...

Oh, and I've been using this handle since about 1987 on BBS/Nets/internet so you may want to try widening your search, though it probably won't help.

Oh.. dont get a chrome dipstick tube Token... the prior owner of my engine pulled this motor because the dipstick kept popping out of the tube. He figured it to be due to some bad rings causing excess blow-by. I bought it from him, and found it to have been the cheap chrome dipstick and dipstick tube that would pop out at just about any pressure. The compression test proved my theory right..
so in short... chrome goodies = waste of money... get a Lokar flexible dipstick tube. Those are going to be re-useable for more projects, and plus if you get new headers later on for whatever reason (long tubes?) you can just bend the tube a lil and that "problem" is done
See where I'm going w/ this? hehe
