Adjusted dimmer switch, Now car stays running with key out???

Adjusted dimmer switch, Now car stays running with key out???
Ok, yesterday i adjusted my dimmer switch so it would work correctly. Now, when i turn the key off and pull it out, the engine stays running. The only way i can get it to shut off is to bang under the steering column pretty hard. Any ideas????? Thanks
