Wow....my timing chain must have been bad
I recently pulled my motor and trans for a transmission swap. While it was out I installed a SA gear performance double roller chain. Because my stock GM chain with 20k was very very loose. I was starting to get pinging at 4 degrees so I knew something was up. Plus the car sounded horrible.
Well I finally started the car up tonight. WOW it sounds amazing. It doesn't sound like the same car anymore. I guess maybe my timing was way out? I have it at 10 degrees now and it runs pretty good.
I need to readjust my valves again because I still hear 1 clicking. And I need to recheck my wire routing. Other than that the swap is finally done.
BTW thanks for the help everyone.
