Are AutoZone cats at least Acceptable

I priced a cat at the Zone for $116. I figure it has to be at least better than ny current cat, which is breaking up. I didn't ask about the warranty on it, but the Zone usually has lifetime warranty. I know some other places probably want $300 for a stock cat for my car. I have gotten some other stuff from the Zone which turned out to be fine.

ANybody get the Zone cat ? Happy with it ?

Thanks

Jegs and other such publications sells cats for around 50 bucks with the air injection inlet... I'd check there first.

Hard to say, really, since I don't have any experience with them. heh. I plan on ordering one soon, though, since my cat's all clogged up. When it comes in I'll tell you how much of a difference it makes in emissions. As far as how well is it constructed... well.. I have no idea, and no way of testing that really.

About a month ago I bought 2 Catco Cats from summit for around $125.00 shipped to my door. They flow better than stock, and I passed calif. emmisions easily. Plus they sound better!

Well hell, if you can pass in Cali with them I'm pretty sure you can pass just about anywhere. hehe

i pass emissions on my GTA with a gutted cat so u should be fine with a high flow one, you will probably actualy do BETTER on ur emissions since the cat will be new.

Try Kansas City Converters. I don't have their web address handy. Just do a search on those words. They have converters that look just like what came on the car originally.
They are around $150-$200.

I've got one of the 3" Catco cats from summit on both my 86 IROC and 87Z. I purchased the direct fit replacement cats, not the universal 3" so they ran around $100 each. These have the slip on for the y-pipe end, and the bolt on for the I-pipe end. The universal one runs around $50 and I believe is just slip fit on both ends. A shop would have to throw that on for you...

I passed the dyno emissions test here with it on both cars.
