Catalytic Converter hard to install?

Well I have a vibrating exhaust part I can hear sometimes when I idle so I figured it was the catalytic converter or somewhere around there. So I look under the car while it was idling and it was coming from around that area.So I took the car to my local exhaust place and he said it was the cayalytic converter and that it would cost 230 bucks to replace.I figured that was a little high so I check my auto parts store and the catalytic converter with air tube comes to 62 dollars total.I looked it up in my haynes manual(yes i kno...dont trust it) and it is only about 5 bolts or so and then replacing the bolts and driving away.I told my friend about it and he said I should just pay the 230 to get it done but it looks easy.Well I come here to ask anyone who has done it.Is it hard or easy? How long does it take? and is there anything I should remember while doing it?

It's easy, if you have a lift or a pit, and a torch. The hard parts of dealing with exhaust in general is that all the hardware rusts up, and the pipes rust together, so it's a real PITA to get apart; and you have to do all the work laying on your back.

But it's by no means impossible. The Haynes is right, there's only a couple of bolts and maybe a U-clamp, so it's not hard from that point of view. If you can look up under there and it doesn't look all rusted and funky, it ight be worth a try.
