I dont understand limited slip/Posi
I made a video of my car today. I went in a SUPER Slippery newly paved parking lot. I gunned it, and smoked the living hell outta my tire. Only one tire smoked, only one tire mark on the ground.
Then the 2nd time I only went half throttle, squeeled them for a while, no smoke, and there were two tire marks this time.
Now If im on a regular street, and I gun it wheels straight, I get a nice squeel, then take off. So If I was in this parking lot, went 1/2 throttle, squeeled and both tires spun, wouldnt both tires spin when I squeel off the line on a regular street?
So how is POSI better if when I squeel my tires (Not smoke) both of my tires spin?
Thanks guys!
I thought POSI = Both wheels spinning all the time.
Limited Slip= One spins, and if it looses traction, then the other one spins.
I have the G80 Limited slip RPO code.

Posi is a GM name for limited slip. The power isn't equally distributed between the wheels, but some power is routed to the wheel with the most traction. Posi doesn't work 'perfect' but it usually works pretty good. If you have posi, it sounds like it's getting worn out. As far as one tire, then both tires spinning depending on the situation--even a non-limited slip(open) rear end can do that.
