Engine: 305 TBI LO3....GONE....305 TPI

Transmission: 700R4 with shift kit

More motor problems

Ok i was driving today...and i got on it just a enough to kick it into passing gear...the RPMs flucuated from 2500 to 3500 then back down...and then a little backfire (like one small pop)....i decided i needed to take it home after this....and on the way back i got on it just a little bit again...flucuated again....then KABOOM...a huge backfire and a cloud of black smoke...it ran rough the rest of the way home.... any ideas??
