The oil dipstick is held on by one bolt. When you do remove the old dipstick, make sure the old O-ring on the dipstick and not on the block. Make sure you use a new O-ring when putting in a new dipstick. May I ask as to how you put a hole on your oil filter?

If you can't change the dipstick tube (which can be a real hassle because of where and how it presses into the block), just put 5 quarts of oil in the motor. You won't be very far wrong.
Putting the new tube in isn't too bad; you can just put a 5/16" bolt in the top end of it and whap it in with a BFH. Getting the old one out is the challenge.
