car won't start,dash lights/hazard blink
I made a search but i found nothing that could help me.
My friend has a 1986 trans-am whit carb.We when out for a ride and the car was fine. Now the car won't start. The dash light and hazard light just blink and the little bell is ringing. The fan goes on so it seem like their is some switch or someting that stop the car from working.
He had is car for 2 years and this is the first time it does that.I never seen that on a carb car.It look like an anti-thief device or something.
Any help would be great cause im confused

Does the car turn over? If it does not I would check your battery connections, they could be loose or corroded. This would allow the lights to come on, but not have enough to turn the car over.

Sounds like one of the 2 fusible links has popped. There are usually about 2, sometimes 3; the feeds to various parts of the car are hooked up through different ones. There are 2 halves of the ignition switch, and each half is fed by one.
The one that feeds the half of the ign switch that has the Start terminal in it, is the one that's bad.
Disconnect the pos batt cable from the batt; then disconnect it at the starter; then look carefully at the 2 small wires that share the big post on the starter with the batt cable. You'll find that one of them is burnt in half.
