why does this happen in the morning????

why does this happen in the morning????

When i start my car in the moring it goes to 1500 rpms to warm up then usually i tap the gas and it goes down to like 1000rpms. but the last 2 days it has been getting stuck at 1500rpms and i hit the gas and it stays at 1500 instead of going down to 1000. the only why i can get it to 1000 is to drive it. This only happens in the moring after i drive it car runs fine rest of day. also the is a carb 350 with an electric choke.
any ideas?????

Make sure the choke is getting its 12V... if it is, you probably need a new choke stat.

I belive this is due to the fast idle solenoiid, which keeps the car at a higher idle rpm for it to warm up faster.
