cant find my temp sending wire to gauge?

I think i see the sending sensor its the one in the driver side in between the spark plugs. It is sticking out,and has a little circle type deal on the end of it were it suppose to connect to the wire i guess. My problem is that i cant find the wire that goes to it, the only wire I see is the purple wire that goes to the exhaust.what color would the temp sending wire be,and were is it located.could the whole wire have fallin off or somthin, how does the end of the wire look.

Thanx

Dark green. It usually is in the wire harness with the A/C clutch wire, it should split out about at the PCV valve.
