Timing Problem. HELP!

ok so i put in a 327 at idle the timing has to be at least 36* advance for it to start do you think it is a cam to crank or a distributor issue or something else?

the springs that hold the weights in the distributor could be too strong but yet again 36* is a ton on the average I think your only supposed to have 36 degrees total without vacuum!

Assuming you are timing off #1 and all is routed correctly, I'd guess the Harmonic Balancer ring has slipped.

there are no weights in the distributor. I did check the balncer and it is still lined up.
