power steering pump, v6 vs v8
when I had the V6, I had to buy a new p/s pump. It was an aftermarket replacment. Right now, it has the V6 brackets on it, they are mounted to the front of the pump. The dude at the GM dealer said I'd have to buy a v8 specific pump that has provisions for a front AND a back bracket. I looked on my pump and it has two studs with nuts on the back of the pump as well as what ever is on the front.
If I remember correctly, the studs on the back were bolted to the AC bracket.
Can my pump be used with the V8 brackets?

The V-6 one on mine (serp set up) was only held in with the bolts in the front, i bought a V-8 Serp set up for my swap down the road, and mounted my cleaned and painted V-6 one in and it used the same 3 holes, dont remember if there were any on the back, but i would think, if the 6 cylenders were good enough with 3 then the 8 cylenders would be too. Ive got the pumps from both engines at a buddies house, so if i need too ill double check, but you should be just fine, dont even have to change hoses from the looks of it.
